Questions?

1. Who is responsible for the contents of this site?
Responsibility lies with the European consortium towards appropriate drug donations of non-governmental organizations (NGO 's) consisting of DIFÄM (Germany), ReMeD (France), Prosalus (Spain) and Wemos (the Netherlands). The Wemos Foundation coordinates this consortium and is directly responsible for the construction of this site. The NGO consortium has a development and education project that addresses the issue of drug donations from the European Community to developing countries and countries in transition. The overall aim of the project is to raise awareness for the need to improve the quality of drug donations. This website is co-financed by the European Commission (DG Development), the Dutch Ministry of Health and Netherlands Development Assistance (NeDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. Why has this site been developed?
This website is developed to support national awareness raising and advocacy campaigns of the members of the NGO consortium on appropriate drug donations and other organizations working to improve the quality of donations. These campaigns address the issue of quality and drug donations. Problems with drug donations in the past years and the publication of the inter-agency guidelines for drug donations by the WHO in 1996 justify widespread information on appropriate donation practices
.

3. Who maintains this site?
Partners in the NGO consortium and other NGO 's provide the information in their respective languages for publication on the site (see below). ReMeD collects and edits this information.

4. What kind of information can be found on this site?
First, you can find guidelines on this site for drug donations and for medical equipment donations. Endorsement and application of these guidelines will stimulate better and more appropriate drug donations. The NGO consortium on appropriate drug donations, responsible for this site, advocates the implementation of these guidelines. In addition to guidelines, you will find a checklist for good drug donation practices. This checklist is constructed in accord with the inter-agency guidelines and is provided as a practical tool for organizations that want to professionalize their donation practices. Information provided under the heading campaign will assist organizations and persons that want to initiate education activities in their communities. What you will find under 'more information' is different for each language. Each page has a link to the links pageof the drugdonations.org site.

5. How to keep updated?
The drugdonations.org site has an electronic mailing list that will inform you (in English) about changes to and updates of this site. Please click here for registration. For an overview of messages posted on this mailing list please click here.

6. How can I add information or URL's to this site?
For information that contributes to the purpose of this site, please contact the organization, from those listed above, in your language. If you have an URL that you would like to see listed on this site, please send a request by e-mail to ReMeD.

7. Is it possible to find donors through this site?
The NGO 's that are responsible for the construction and maintenance of this site will not assist you in finding appropriate drug or medical equipment donations or funding for this purpose. This site is set up solely to provide information on good drug donation practices. We can therefore, unfortunately, not assist you with practical donation requests. You can however go to the linking page for links to different kind of organizations, among which those that donate drugs.

8. How can I promote or support this site?
A part of this site has been set up as a promotion page. On this page, you will find a short description of the site meant for website promotion, as well as a small logo for downloading for your website (ask your webmaster). Please click here to go to this promotion part. The NGO consortium responsible for the site also welcomes other kinds of  support. Please send an e-mail to ReMeD.
